Is there a fee to become a CPD Provider?
No. Registration as a CPD Provider with the CPD Standards Board is completely free. This allows you to begin the process of accrediting your content without any upfront cost.
What is the cost to accredit a training course?
Accrediting a training course costs £200. This applies whether the course is delivered face-to-face or online. Once accredited, you’ll be authorised to issue CPD Credits for that specific course.
What qualifies as a training course?
A training course refers to structured learning delivered either in person or digitally. This includes e-learning, classroom training, or any formalised educational session designed to enhance professional skills.
Are CPD certificates included in accreditation?
No. Certificates are charged separately at £5 each. These are official CPD Standards Board certificates and include access to the online verification service. You do not have to issue CPD Standards Board certificates, you may issue your own own internal certificates. You will need CPDSB certificates if you want your participants to be able to verify their CPD accreditation.
Is the accreditation a one-time fee or recurring?
Accreditation is renewed annually to maintain quality standards. You should confirm the renewal policy directly with the CPD Standards Board when your renewal date is advised.
Can I use my own certificates instead?
Yes. If your course is accredited, you may choose to issue your own branded certificates rather than purchasing the CPD Standards Board ones. However, the official certificates come with added credibility and a built-in verification system.
Are the certificates digital or hard copy?
These are digital certificates that are generated with the participant name, your company information, CPD credits awarded and the name of your course. They carry the CPD Standards Board seal, along with access to their online verification platform.
Why is there a threshold of 50 people for events?
The CPD Standards Board typically considers events with over 50 participants as large-scale or public learning activities, which require independent quality assurance to qualify for CPD accreditation.
Do I need to pay £200 for each separate item?
Yes. Each training course, webinar, event, or podcast is accredited individually. The £200 fee applies per item. This ensures that each piece of content is reviewed and approved on its own merit.
Is there a minimum for issuing CPD certificates?
There is no minimum number of participants required to issue certificates.
